Vitamin D3 Supplements Can Make Huge Difference
Everybody today wants to have a strong immune system to prevent disease, tough bones and teeth to avoid fractures and dental problems, or healthy nervous system to ensure good memory, focus and emotional well-being. This goal, however, can’t be achieved without normal blood levels of Vitamin D. Until recently, we didn’t give Vitamin D much thought. We knew that a daily dose of this vitamin was vital for strong bones, but it certainly wasn’t seen as a wonder vitamin that could help fight off a host of serious health problems. Vitamin D is regarded as exceptionally important health-sustaining factor because apart from being a vitamin it also works as a hormone which can influence thousands of different human genes and cells. In the last few years, numerous studies have linked a deficiency of Vitamin D to just about every disease from cancer and heart disease to depression and almost all autoimmune diseases such as MS or Parkinson’s. And to make matters worse, most of us in the UK have dangerously low levels of this vitamin.
Recent studies suggest that maintaining our vitamin D levels at around 50ng/ml to 80ng/ml may have incredibly important role in prevention of various health problems including recurrent infections, flu and cold, cancer, autoimmune diseases, osteoporosis, obesity, asthma, skin problems, hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, hair loss, mood problems, periodontal disease, cystic fibrosis, fertility problems, depression, Alzheimer’s disease, and many other conditions. Also pregnant and lactating women are encouraged to take vitamin D3 supplements. A 2013 study by University of Kentucky researchers found out that low levels of Vitamin D cause damage to the brain.
Excellent immune system booster & regulator
Vitamin D3 plays critical role in enhancing the immune system making it more effective in fighting flu or colds. Vitamin D also plays a very important role in preventing immune system from attacking own body and causing autoimmune diseases. Today researchers maintain that almost all autoimmune diseases have been linked to Vitamin D deficiency.
Vital for strong bones & teeth
Vitamin D regulates the absorption of calcium and phosphorous in the body and plays crucial role in bone formation to help the development of strong bones and teeth. It assists in the prevention of osteoporosis brought on by the menopause and appears to be much more important than calcium in preventing fractures. In addition, Vitamin D stops calcium from being deposited into the kidneys and arteries, thus preventing kidney stones and arteriosclerosis.
Helps suppress appetite & maintain healthy body weight
Present scientific studies and research suggest that obesity is associated with Vitamin D deficiency because apart from improving fat cell metabolism Vitamin D can also acts as an appetite suppressant which effect is achieved by stimulating the release of leptin. New studies give evidence that Vitamin D helps us to burn more calories by making fat cells more metabolically active, and by turning our body from a fat-storing into a fat-burning mode.
Supports normal brain function and healthy nervous system
Vitamin D plays important role in regulating brain function. It aids the development of the nervous system and brain, helping postpone decline of the nerve cells. Some of the Vitamin D receptors in the brain are found in the areas that are related to the development of low mood. For this reason, Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to mental health problems.
