BRANCH CHAIN AMINO ACIDS (BCAAs)

L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine – these amino follow similar metabolic pathways providing ingredients for the manufacture of other essential biochemical components in the body, some of which are utilised for the production of energy. Isoleucine is necessary for the production of haemoglobin. It also helps regulate blood sugar and energy levels. Leucine is required for regulating blood sugar levels and helping maintain tissue health. This makes it useful for post-surgical patients. Valine performs naturally as a mental stimulant and also functions in regenerating tissue and maintaining nitrogen balance. This amino acid is necessary in the smooth functioning of the nervous system and in muscle development and coordination.

Research suggests that BCAAs may be useful for muscle recovery following exercise.
