Osteoflex Plus (Glucosamine, Chondroitin & Hyaluronic acid)

Written by Slawomir (“Swavak”) Gromadzki, MPH

There are different types of arthritis but the most common by far is osteoarthritis. In the UK alone over 10 million people suffer from this painful degenerative condition associated with various unpleasant symptoms including inflammation, pain and stiffness. In people with osteoarthritis, the cartilage which surrounds joints breaks down and becomes thin. This results in joint friction, pain, inflammation and stiffness. There is a constantly growing evidence that osteoarthritis isn’t an unavoidable condition of a ‘wear and tear’ problem but rather the result of mechanical damage of the cartilage with insufficient self-repair caused by sluggish metabolism, poor blood circulation, damage of peripheral nerves, and deficiency of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Today scientific research is overloaded with evidence suggesting that joint health can be greatly improved with a healthier lifestyle combined with a good quality supplements containing most valuable for joint health ingredients such as Glucosamine, Chondroitin, Hyaluronic acid, Turmeric, Manganese and Vitamin C.

Glucosamine helps repair damaged cartilage & improves joint function

The body uses Glucosamine to form all the chemicals it needs to repair cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and synovial fluid (the naturally occurring fluid that bathes the joints). Researchers suggest that taking supplements with Glucosamine may either increase the cartilage and fluid surrounding joints or help prevent their breakdown.

Chondroitin enhances the shock-absorbing properties of joints

Chondroitin is a component of human connective tissues found in cartilage and bone. It enhances the shock-absorbing properties of collagen and blocks enzymes that break down cartilage. Chondroitin also helps cartilage retain water and improves the effectiveness of Glucosamine as it helps reverse cartilage loss when used with Glucosamine.

Hyaluronic Acid helps maintain strong and flexible joints

In 2010 medical research has shown that Hyaluronic Acid can reduce certain type of prostaglandin hormones that trigger inflammation. It can also help with the repair and protection of joints. In one study sixty osteoarthritic subjects on Hyaluronic Acid experienced significant improvement after few months.

Vitamin C, Manganese & Turmeric for normal function of cartilage & regulating inflammatory responses

Vitamin C is crucial for the formation of collagen, the main protein in joint tissue which helps repair joint cartilage. Manganese helps the body form connective tissue and bones. Several recent studies show that Turmeric can modify and regulate immune system inflammatory responses, thus helping improve joint health.
